Coming home

Hello friends,

I'm Zorro and I'm going to regale you with stories that happen to me. Some may be funny and entertaining, but some may also be harrowing. I'll try to stick to the former, though.

Let's start with the beginning. ;) The first thing that happened to me after I was taken away from my doggy-mom and brothers and sisters was a GREAT car ride! My new grandma drove, while my new mom was holding me on her lap and letting me look out the window, I totally loved that and never thought of my old family again (sorry...!).

When we left the car, my mom took me into my new home. She let me walk and sniff around and you know what: it was WONDERFUL! Look what was waiting just for me:

My very own cuddly basket with wonderful little toys, just for me! *yippeeee* I loved it right away, see:

Even though I've grown quite a bit, I still sleep in it at night. It's really just too cosy, I could never give it up.

Gotta run now.... talk to you again soon, showing and telling you more of my new life with my mom!

Introducing.... ZORRO!

My friends,

Upon repeated request, here is my new blog, or better: ZORRO'S blog. ;) He will tell you about his life and sign his entries with a paw-heart so you know it was him and not me:

Zorro arrived in my life last summer. I was still in deep mourning after the loss of my dearest, most-beloved, forever-in-my-heart-living Gipsy, my Mausebär, my beee, whom I had to let go in late January 2016 because she did not deserve to suffer. She had almost reached 17 years of age. Naturally, a part of my heart died that day, too. It rests with her now, and that's fine.

To rescue the other part, Zorro came into my life. I didn't really want a new dog, but "my environment" thought it would be best for me. People kept telling me about a litter here, a litter there, why don't you go have a look... So one sunny Sunday afternoon, I went to see a litter of Tibetan Terrier puppies in a nearby neighborhood. You'd think that it'd be needless to ask: who would EVER go just LOOK at puppies!? Well, I did! I thought all 6 of them super-cute, of course, but I didn't want one, believe it or not.

A day later, Monday, I was still thinking of the 6 cuties, though, and I called the lady who owned them to ask her how the puppies were. She told me that 2 had already been selected, so that left only 4 for me to choose from.

I said "oh well, I guess it wasn't meant to be then" (???) and we hung up. So I dropped by her house on Tuesday morning. (???) Stayed about an hour and cuddled with all puppies. Left without being any smarter. (???)

Not that all this could be considered the least bit logical. At all. Nope. (???)

Then came Wednesday... the lady called me in the evening and told me that only 2 puppies were left and that two more interested parties had announced their arrival for Thursday afternoon, and that she would so love for one of the little ones to stay close by... Hmmm.

So Thursday morning I went to see the funny lot again and told the two "left-overs" that they would have to decide which one of them would come home with me, I wouldn't do that for them, no way, I said. To help them decide, I sat down in their little "corral". But... within 2 minutes, 6 puppies were crawling, jumping, and cuddling up all over me and went to sleep after a few more minutes. GREAT decision-making.... haha.

But then it happened! About 10 minutes after they had all fallen asleep, their mom started barking at my friend who came around the corner to visit the puppy she had already chosen, and guess what: ALL BUT ONE puppy followed suit, left their cosy bed (= me), and barked at the stranger along with their mom. The one that didn't care a fig about all that crazy commotion just looked up for a second, sighed lazily, and went back snug to sleep on my lap. And that was how Zorro chose me as his new mom because he was one of the two "left-over puppies".

By the way, look at this picture, check out the mask, and you'll know why I named him Zorro:

Zorro at 9 weeks

He was the biggest of the litter, but as it turned out, he is also the coolest, an absolute "chiller".  When he's tired, he's tired and drops down wherever he is to take a nap, look:

And here is my absolute FAVORITE:
